Ride the Rockies 2016 – 6 Days to Go

I was lucky and won one of the 2,000 places for this year’s Ride the Rockies again. This year’s bicycle ride is 6 days, 399 miles with 29,311 feet of climb. The route and profile is shown above.

Some of the many high lights of this year’s ride is starting on day two from Aspen going over Independence Pass which is the 4th highest paved road in the U.S. to Copper Mountain Resort. We will be sleeping at elevation 9,700 for two nights and the temperatures will be 32 degrees when we start our ride for those two mornings. We will be going by many of the famous ski resorts. On day 5 we will cross the continental divide on Trail Ridge Road thru Rocky Mountain National Park on the highest paved road in the U.S. It should be a beautiful ride. Please check back for my post on the ride.
