Last night we made it about 50 miles past Denver to Idaho Springs. We saw lots of snow on the mountains past Denver. I was happy to see we were at elevation 7,500 feet above sea level. Our hotel was on a creek and we had a good night sleep for a gorgeous two hour morning drive to the start town of Carbondale.
We drove by many of the famous Colorado ski resorts which I will also be bicycling by in the next several days.
We also drove thru Glenn Canyon with the Colorado River. It was also gorgeous with a bike path running along it. Someday I will come back to ride that trail.
We made it to Carbondale by 11am where the mechanics at the Cannondale tent took apart my bottom bracket and regreased it. Hopefully that will take care of the knocking noise.
Not something you want to see the day before a 400 mile ride
The high school where we are staying is not as nice as the college we stayed at last year for the first night but the scenery is great.
Guess we will head into town for lunch and some music.
