Breakfast started early at 6am so we could get an early start between 6:30 and 7am. I had oatmeal with strawberries.
We started riding at 6:50am
We worked our way thru San Diego to our first rest stop at mile 26 and the second rest area at mile 34 in a pull off on the expressway.
We continued going up with grades varying from 4% to 11%. The lunch Stop shown below in the park was pretty and at the end of the climb at elevation 5,900 feet. We then had some nice downhills with a few uphills.
We then came into the old gold mining town of Julian where I had some craft beer and thinking of having their famous apple pie.
The hotel was great.
The apple pie was great.
